Little Things to Keep Your Office Green

Let’s face it. If you are working in a Bay Area office building, changes are that you need to be conscience of your surroundings. It is not enough for your company to maintain a green environment, but how can you help.

There are many ways a maintenance team can support your office in staying clean and green. Even though your facility’s manager hires a maintenance company to help keep your office green, there are things you can do.

  1. Turn the lights off in your office when not in use.
  2. Turn off your computer when not in use.
  3. Copy or print double sided documents
  4. Instead of pouring water down the drain, water your plants
  5. Place a pitcher of water in the refrigerator for use

Chances are if you are green at home, you can bring it into your office. Throw trash in the correct bins and if you don’t have recycle bins, ask your office manager. Create a list of “how to’s” to place in strategic areas in our office. This will help remind your co-workers that it’s the little things that can keep your office green. It can start with you.
